Google Pixel 8 Series Release Date Announced For October; Possibility of Pixel Watch 2 Unveiling?

The release date of the Google Pixel 8 series has been confirmed, and it seems that the accidental leaks of the phone were done as a prelude to the official announcement. Google has sent out invites for a “Made by Google event,” which basically refers to the Google Pixel lineup.

Google Pixel 8 release date and time

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are Google’s new flagship devices, apart from the first-generation Pixel Fold, which was released earlier this year. Google’s Pixel launch event is set for October 4th, with an in-person event taking place in New York like last year. The Google Pixel 8 launch event will begin at 7:30 PM IST on Tuesday.

The Pixel 8 launch event will also be streamed live for everyone and you can follow the event on Google’s YouTube page and the Google Store website. In addition to the Pixel 8 series, the event will probably also feature the Pixel Watch 2 and probably the new generation Pixel Buds Pro model.

The Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold may finally reach more countries and yes, Android 14 will be announced and when the new version will arrive for Pixel and non-Pixel users this year. It has been suggested that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro launch date in India will coincide with the global event and we are eager to hear more about this from the company in the coming days.

Speaking of Android 14, Google Pixel phones are now rumored to receive up to 5 years of OS updates, matching the support Apple offers its iPhone users. Google could limit these changes to Tensor-powered Pixel models, allowing them to offer longer security updates as well.

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Expected Specifications

The new Pixel 8 series could have a small 6.1-inch OLED display for the Pixel 8 and a 6.7-inch OLED display for the Pro version. Google could use the new Tensor G3 chip to power the devices, which are rumored to come this year with up to 12GB of RAM. Android 14 will likely come out of the box with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, while camera updates are worth keeping an eye on.
